Walleye: High concentration during early
spring due to spawning, near the Pine River inlet on Upper Whitefish
Lake. In the summer, Walleye are most likely to be found on long
mid-lake bars, sunken islands and deep weed edges. In the fall,
look for them in Lower Whitefish and Cross lakes.
Northern Pike: Abundant throughout the
chain, mostly in weed beds and shallower waters.
Largemouth Bass: There is better luck
finding this fish in the smaller lakes. Look for weed growth and
woody cover for prime areas.
Pan Fish: Crappie, Bluegill and Pumpkinseed
fishing is abundant throughout the chain. Weedy bays and channels
are popular spots to look for them in spring and summer. After mid-summer,
look in deeper areas.
